One of the coolest parts of being Miss Georgetown Fair is enjoying all the gifts and prizes from all the community partners who contribute to the queen pageant, and Danville Toyota is proud to sponsor the queen's fair week car. Queen Sarah spent the week driving a new Toyota and we got a chance to do some pictures on Saturday afternoon. Joe put the car in position for pictures and he was impressed with the push button start and enormous moonroof, and we're sure Queen Sarah really enjoyed her fair week ride. We missed the other members of the court when we did pictures but we were happy to have Queen Sarah's third runner-up Emily Wise.
Fair week was a lot of fun but Queen Sarah is just getting started. She'll be making lots of appearances this fall in the Georgetown community, and soon she'll start thinking about the Illinois state fair queen pageant held in January. And we know what you're thinking - January is a long time away, but time really flies with Josh and Joe Travels!

Saturday afternoon during the fair we were with Miss Georgetown Fair 2016 Sarah Sigmon and third runner-up Emily Wise when they hit the midway for a few minutes in between appearances. We managed to grab a couple shots of Queen Sarah and Emily on the big slide a few of the rides, and we were relieved Queen Sarah's crown didn't fly off on the Sizzler. And speaking of the Sizzler, Joe couldn't resist taking a spin with Desiree Bainbridge '14. We're probably lucky there wasn't a wristband special in the midway or they could have disappeared for hours. The expanded midway was a big hit at the Georgetown Fair this year, and we hope you got to take a spin just like Josh and Joe Travels!

One of the most important responsibilities of the Georgetown Fair Queen is to promote the annual fair, and 2016 Queen Sarah Sigmon was on the radio just about everyday talking about the grandstand entertainment and bigger midway. Queen Sarah spends a lot of time on the grounds and typically stops to talk on the radio on her way to another appearance. On the days we tag along with the fair queen we have to be ready for just about anything, and over the years we've developed a pretty good sense of what happens next in the schedule. Miss Georgetown Fair is also lucky to have some pretty cool local radio personalities who make going on the air live a lot of fun. And to think that fair week is just the start of things for the Georgetown Fair Queen! So if you want to see more about Queen Sarah's year, and catch up with our own adventures, keep checking back right here at Josh and Joe Travels!

Saturday at the Georgetown Fair is a day that keeps the queen hopping with events for kids starting with the baby contest first thing in the morning. Miss Georgetown Fair 2016 Sarah Sigmon was also on hand for the longest hair contest and the pedal tractor pull, and the fun really got started when Joe cooked up a plan to get a contest going between Queen Sarah, third runner-up Emily and a few of the former queens who happened to be at the fair. So after Queen Sarah and third runner-up Emily it was Molly Thomann '01, Danielle Turner '13 and Desiree Bainbridge '14. And as luck would have it, our red tractor queen Danielle still had a some black smoke and won our little contest after a couple full pulls. We're just glad Queen Sarah didn't bet her crown, because you can probably tell from the pictures that Queen Sarah was the star of the show Saturday morning. Next year at the fair be sure to stick around to see what happens after all the trophies are handed out at the pedal pull, because with a few of our favorite fair queens a couple clicks of the shutter anything is possible with Josh and Joe Travels!

Miss Georgetown Fair 2016 Sarah Sigmon spent the entire week at the Georgetown Fair and it seemed like every time we turned around she was on the radio talking about the grandstand entertainment and bragging about the cool new rides in the expanded midway. D102's Tommy B. has got to be one of our favorite radio personalities in the Danville area. We love the energy he brings to events so we're always excited when Tommy B. and Miss Georgetown are doing the same appearance. D102's Easter Egg Hunt in Danville is one of our favorite events with the fair queen, and if jump in the blog time machine you'll see lots of pictures with Miss Georgetown and Tommy B.
We had a lot of fun with Queen Sarah and we still have more pictures to share from fair week, so keep checking back for more updates right here at Josh and Joe Travels!

Some of the best entertainment at the Georgetown Fair happens on Friday and Saturday night, and Miss Georgetown Fair 2016 Sarah Sigmon was right there in the middle of the action when Motocross packed the grandstand. We like motocross because it is a chance to get one of our favorite court pictures, and above you'll see Queen Sarah with first runner-up Heather Simpson and third runner-up Emily Wise. Queen Sarah has a blast at the 2016 Georgetown Fair and we can't wait to show you more pictures right here at Josh and Joe Travels!

Saturday night in the midway is one of our favorite times at the Georgetown Fair, and Miss Georgetown Fair 2016 Sarah Sigmon had her run over one of the biggest midway shows we've ever seen at Georgetown. This week Queen Sarah got her first few doses of what it's like to have a photographer with her constantly and we were glad she played along as we hatched ideas for pictures. Some of our favorite fair week pictures with the queen come from our night session in the midway and as the official photographers of the Georgetown Fair Queen we are excited to share a few of them first right here. We still have lots more to share with you from Queen Sarah's week at the Georgetown Fair, so keep checking back to follow Sarah's week in pictures just like you were right there with Josh and Joe Travels!

Ping Pong Prize Drop is one of our favorite parts of the Georgetown Fair, and this year we were there with Miss Georgetown Fair 2016 Sarah Sigmon. The ping pong balls drop from a Danville fire department ladder truck and a high extension bucket truck, and Queen Sarah went up twice in the fire truck followed by her first runner-up Heather Simpson. And Queen Sarah's third runner-up Emily Wise was right there with Heather when the kids rushed the field to collect their ten ping pong balls. We've been photographing the Georgetown Fair Queen for few years now and we still love ping pong drop. It's one of the coolest local fair events we've seen anywhere in the midwest, and you can take our word for it because we photographed over one hundred fairs and festivals before Miss Georgetown met Josh and Joe Travels!
