Contestant info now online for the 2012 Miss Georgetown Fair Queen Pageant!
Information is now available for contestants in the 2012 Miss Georgetown Fair Queen Pageant, to be held Monday, August 6, 2012, at the Georgetown fairgrounds grandstand. The Georgetown Fair Queen is the official hostess of the Georgetown Fair, and with about 50,000 visitors each year they are one of the biggest and best fairs in Illinois. Miss Georgetown is a leader in her community and this year's queen is Miss Georgetown 2011 Alexandria Hannan who just graduated from Eastern Illinois and plans to go to law school. As fair queen, Alexandria generally makes at least one official appearance each month, and you can see pictures from many of her appearances right here at Josh and Joe Travels.
The Georgetown Fair Queen Pageant is directed by Karen Thornsbrough and Jill Pope, two of the best pageant directors we have met. We've got a fair share of pageant experience, from photographing state fair queens to producing some pageants of our own in national systems, and we can say without a doubt that Karen and Jill run a top notch program. Miss Georgetown is all about promoting and supporting the success of young women at the community level, so every girl benefits from just entering as a contestant by participating in mock interviews and practice sessions that build skills that last a lifetime.
"Hunting for a Queen" is the theme of the 2012 Miss Georgetown Fair Queen Pageant, and contestants need to be age 16-21 and a resident of Vermilion County, Illinois, where Georgetown is located. Miss Georgetown gets an awesome prize package, including her official crown and sash and a car for fair week in August. On top of all that, contestants compete for college assistance at Danville Area Community College and a variety of other scholarship awards. And don't forget, Miss Georgetown represents her community at the Miss Illinois County Fair Queen Pageant in January. Ready to become a contestant? Go the official Georgetown Fair Queen Pageant website.
Being the Georgetown Fair Queen is the experience of a lifetime, and to help her remember every minute we are proud to be the official photographer of the Miss Georgetown Fair Queen. Friends and family all follow Miss Georgetown's year through the pictures we post right here at Josh and Joe Travels, and we make sure the queen and her court all get photo albums and CDs from fair week. Prospective contestants can see more pictures and the scrapbooks and albums we made for Queen Alexandria Hannan at the Georgetown Fair Pageant Informational Tea on July 8th. So if you are between age 16 and 21, live in Vermilion County, IL, and are ready for the adventure of a lifetime, get in touch with Karen and Jill to find out how to become a contestant!
Be sure to check out the pictures from the 2011 informational pageant tea and browse our blog to see pictures of Queen Alexandria at her latest appearances. The 2012 Miss Georgetown Pageant is going to be incredible and we can't wait to show you pictures right here at Josh and Joe Travels!
