A Visit to the Florida Keys Memorial in Islamorada
Located at mile marker 81, the Florida Keys Memorial was dedicated in 1937 and is on the National Registry of Historic Places. The monument was constructed in memory of those who were lost in the 1935 hurricane, which is said to have killed hundreds in the Keys.
The hurricane monument is in Islamorada near World Wide Sportsman and many other great places to visit, so if you are passing through the upper Keys, we think you'll be glad you stopped to take a look at the Florida Keys Memorial.
