Miss Georgetown Fair Alexendria Hannan visits the Nakota's Natural Beauty Pageant in Danville
On Saturday, February 25, 2012, we traveled to Danville, Illinois, to accompany Miss Georgetown Fair Alexandria Hannan and her directors to the Nakota's Natural Beauty Pageant held at Danville High School. All of the visiting queens came dressed in beautiful evening gowns wearing their crowns and sashes. We know how hard Queen Alex worked to earn the title of Miss Georgetown Fair, so she is always proud to put on her sash and represent the community of Georgetown.
Nakota's Natural Beauty Pageant honors the life and memory of a little girl named Nakota by supporting success of young women in the Danville area. This year over 40 young women competed in three divisions. Queen Alex got to go up on stage and introduce herself as one of the visiting queens, and she didn't miss the chance to talk about her upcoming Fairy Tale Come True Lunch with the Georgetown Fair Queen on March 10th at the Georgetown fairgrounds. Georgetown Fair Queen directors Karen and Jill tell us that there are still tickets available. Last year this event sold out quickly, so get in touch with them right away to reserve your seats.
Queen Alex got to sit right up front with the visiting royalty, including Miss Vermilion County Carley Strader, Miss Westville Labor Day Angelina Mendez, and Jr. Miss Vermilion Linna Shutt. The Nakota pageant team did a great job decorating the stage and the Danville High School auditorium, and we were particularly impressed with how they roped off a section just for the princesses and visiting queens.
Kelsie Lomax won the 2012 miss division title at the Nakota's Natural Beauty Pageant. We were all cheering for Kelsie because she has been a contestant at the Georgetown Fair Queen Pageant, twice placing as a finalist and earning a spot on the queen's court. We know this is a great opportunity for Kelsie and we can't wait to see her out and about in the community having a great year.
Of the eight girls competing in the miss division, six are former contestants at the Georgetown Fair Queen Pageant. Queen Alex is pictured above with Kayla Plotner and Amie Harvey. The Georgetown Queen contestants demonstrated their intelligence, beauty and poise at the Nakota pageant and we look forward to seeing them again this summer in Georgetown.
